Align Your Bike with Your Body
At Physiotherapy Performance Institute (PPI), we combine physiotherapy expertise with cycling biomechanics to help you ride more efficiently, comfortably, and injury-free.
Simon has worked with cyclists of all levels—from weekend riders to competitive athletes—ensuring every setup reflects the rider’s individual mechanics, strengths, and limitations.
Cycling is unique: your body and bike act as one unit. When that relationship is balanced, you move better, perform stronger, and stay healthier on the bike.
What’s Involved in a PPI Bike Fit
A Bike Fit Assessment at PPI runs for approximately two hours, balancing injury prevention, comfort, and performance.
1. Rider Assessment (approx. 1 hour)
We start with a full physiotherapy-based assessment to understand your body’s movement patterns, posture, and limitations:
-
- Body measurements and alignment
-
- Muscle strength and asymmetry
-
- Flexibility and joint range of motion
- Areas of tightness or restriction affecting power or comfort
2. Bike & Ride Analysis (approx. 1 hour)
Next, we assess how your body interacts with the bike:
-
- On-bike assessment
-
- High-speed video analysis of your cycling mechanics
- Identification of setup changes to improve efficiency and comfort
After Your Assessment
You’ll receive a detailed report outlining tailored recommendations, including:
-
- Seat height and fore–aft position
-
- Handlebar drop, stem length, and reach
-
- Cleat alignment and foot positioning
This all impacts the role of ach muscle group, with subtle adjustments making a big impact on the bike. Whether you’re looking to optimise your ride, or modify things due to injury – PPI can help you.
We typically don’t make mechanical adjustments in-clinic, allowing you to take your personalised report to a specialist bike servicing centre to implement changes precisely.
Who It’s For?
-
- Road cyclists
-
- Triathletes
-
- Recreational riders wanting improved comfort and efficiency
Whether you’re chasing performance gains or simply trying to ride pain-free, a PPI Bike Fit helps you get more from every kilometre.
