At Physiotherapy Performance Institute (PPI), Simon has been assisting cyclists for years, ensuring their bike setup aligns with their body’s biomechanics. Cycling is unique in that the rider and the bike function as one, making it essential that the machine is set up to match the individual’s mechanics, strengths, and limitations.

A Bike Fit Assessment at PPI is a two-hour process, designed to balance injury prevention, comfort, and performance—whether you’re an elite rider or a recreational cyclist.

What’s Involved?

  1. Rider Assessment (1 Hour)
    • Body measurements
    • Strengths & weaknesses
    • Muscle length & flexibility
    • Areas of tightness affecting performance
  2. Bike & Ride Analysis (1 Hour)
    • On-bike assessment
    • Video analysis of cycling mechanics
    • Identifying potential setup adjustments

Following the assessment, you’ll receive a detailed report with recommendations such as:

  • Seat height & fore-aft position
  • Handlebar drop & stem length
  • Cleat positioning & alignment

We typically don’t adjust the bike in-clinic, as we prefer to provide tailored recommendations for you to implement with a specialist bike servicing centre.
